TACA 2012 Silver Cup Awarded to
Caroline Rose Hunt and Frank Risch

DALLAS, Texas, February 29, 2012 — The TACA Silver Cup Award Luncheon honored two Dallas legends at their 34th annual event on Friday, February 24, 2012 at the Hilton Anatole. Caroline Rose Hunt and Frank Risch each received the Silver Cup Award which recognizes outstanding contributions to the arts in Dallas. While the luncheon specifically recognizes two individuals, it also serves at the one day each year when civic and corporate leaders, volunteers, staff and supporters gather under one roof to celebrate the performing arts community. This year's chairmen are long time arts supporters Suzanne and David Droese. Last year's awardees Sarah Perot and John Eagle presented the honors to Hunt and Risch. TACA help to provide over $1 million to performing arts groups each year. Mayor Mike Rawlings was on hand to congratulate the honorees as well.

More about the honorees...

Caroline Rose Hunt, former honorary chairman of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, served for a decade as a Trustee of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and received the Arts Patronage Award from the National Museum of Women in the Arts in 2003. She has provided funding for the capital campaigns of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, the Dallas Children's Theater, Parkland Hospital, United Way of Metropolitan Dallas and Dallas Children's Theater. She is also a longtime supporter of the Dallas Opera, the Dallas Symphony, KERA, Retina Foundation of the Southwest, Texas Ballet Theater and Dallas Summer Musicals. She has supported a variety of organizations by serving as honorary chair of many events. She is Chairman of the Early Childhood division at Highland Park Presbyterian Church where she was elected as its first woman deacon.

The idea for the New Works Fund arose from TACA's annual State of the Arts discussions, led by nationally recognized arts leaders each fall. Donna Wilhelm, in whose name the fund is established said, "I believe that Dallas, with its amazing architecture, contiguous arts district and vibrant urban scene, is on the cusp of a remarkable renaissance. And the arts play an important role in that renaissance."

As Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dallas Theater Center, Frank Risch helped oversee the 50th anniversary season in the Dee and Charles Wyly Theater at the AT&T Performing Arts Center, for which he also serves on the Executive Committee. For many years, he has served on the Board and Executive Committee of the Dallas Holocaust Museum/Center for Education and Tolerance, which awarded him the 2011 Hope for Humanity Award this October. In 2003, he received the Henry Cohn Humanitarian Award from the Anti-Defamation League of North Texas. He is a past President of Temple Emanu-El of Dallas, current Vice Chair of Communities Foundation of Texas and a board member of Dallas CASA, the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas, the Anti-Defamation League of North Texas and the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University.
